Leg pain/Sciatica
Back pain and sciatica can be very effectively cared for at the Buchanan Chiropractic. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body and is positioned in the lower back and runs down the back of the legs. All the muscles in the back of the legs get their nerve supply from the sciatic nerve and when the sciatic nerve is irritated it can produce signs such as numbness, tingling, pins + needles, burning sensations, shooting pains and weakness. Sometimes the leg may even feel tired or weak.
The aggravation of this nerve is commonly referred to as ‘Sciatica.’ The sciatic nerve can be aggravated various different ways but most commonly resulting from problems in the lower back, even if there is no pain in the lower back!
