What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the 3rd largest health care profession in the world, behind conventional medicine and Dentistry. Chiropractic is a primary health care profession, which means you don't need a referral from your GP and Chiropractors are the first contact point for a variety of health issues.
Chiropractors are highly trained in making diagnoses, treatment, and the prevention of many conditions as well as being highly trained in radiology (can diagnose from x-rays) and radiography (can take x-rays). Some chiropractors have full X-ray facilities at their clinics and can refer on to other health care professionals if necessary.
All chiropractors
in the UK have to be registered by the General Chiropractic
Council (GCC). The GCC regulates all chiropractors
in the UK to protect the public and to maintain high
standards of chiropractic care and education within
the UK. For a chiropractor to register with the GCC
they must have graduated from a GCC recognized college
and have full public indemnity insurance.
Here at Buchanan Chiropractic we are members of the General Chiropractic Council, The Scottish Chiropractic Association & The British Chiropractic Association.
